Re-post ๐ is appreciated!
#neurojobs: weโre looking for new team members to join us @cmc-unit.bsky.social!โจIf youโd like to study decision-making in naturalistic & embodied contexts (integrating RL, RNNs & cross-species data analysis) in a cool & collaborative research environment ๐, check ๐
To understand how the brain forms memories, feelings and behaviours has long been a dream for researchers.
BREAKING NEWS The 2026 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine has been awarded to Karl Deisseroth, Peter Hegemann and Georg Nagel โfor their discoveries concerning light-gated ion channels and optogenetics.โ
Just uploaded my #BernsteinConference talk on abstract models of neuromodulation in #SpikingNeuralNetworks. No video was taken, so it's just the slides.
Looking forward to more discussions? See you next year in Lausanne for the #BernsteinConference 2027! ๐
Thatโs a wrap on the #BernsteinConference 2026! ๐
Four days of talks, posters, workshops, discussions and plenty of opportunities to connect. Thank you to everyone who joined us in Frankfurt!

We're very glad you enjoyed the conference! ๐
This was my first time going to #BernsteinConference and I really enjoyed it. Would definitely recommend going next year. Particularly enjoyed the workshops and posters. Overall vibe was ๐
Today at #Bernsteinconference is Anna Levina on intrinsic timescales of neural dynamics๐. Timescales can be estimated from any brain signals, spikes, local field potentials, rhythms(?). Longer time-scale dynamics is closer to the critical point, but sometimes having a shorter is useful behaviorally.
Today's highlight of the #Bernsteinconference is Richard Naud on learning. V. interesting!๐ 1) bursting spiking can serve as a mechanism of learning, 2) errors are addressed by the neuron that should have been involved in the right choice and not by the neuron that was involved in the wrong choice.
โฆAnd, of course, the poster session! So many interesting projects and great discussions. One of my favorite parts!
Another highlight today: Xiao-Jing Wang received the '26 Valentin Braitenberg Award for his outstanding contributions to #CompNeuro, from neural circuit models of #WorkingMemory & #DecisionMaking to #ComputationalPsychiatry. Congratulations๐
The satellite workshops at the #BernsteinConference yesterday and today were already fantastic! I enjoyed every single talk and discussion. And today, the main conference kicked off as well. What a great start!
And since I obviously forgot to post about my own poster yesterday๐ง

Day two of #BernsteinConference 2026 is underway! ๐
The main conference has officially begun, and itโs great to see the plenary room filling up in Frankfurt.
โ๏ธ A little coffee-break moment from day one of #BernsteinConference 2026!
Our Satellite Workshops are underway in Frankfurt โ with plenty of time for discussions, exchanges and catching up between sessions.
Getting ready for @bernsteinneuro.bsky.social, let me know if you want to catch up or grab a cofee. also, does anyone have a spare time-turner for attending multiple workshops?
CMC Unit is heading to @bernsteinneuro.bsky.social , with 1 workshop, 1 contributed talk in the main meeting, and 4 wonderful posters (see thread ๐ for details), and tons of excitement for discussions and new ideas!
Now at the top of the page for everyone's convenience! ๐
