Looking forward to this webinar with the Canadian
Health Coalition Oct 20. Too often we view health care solely as a cost. In reality it’s an *industry*, and one of Canada’s most important. Webinar: The economic benefits of public health care in Canada #canlab www.healthcoalition.ca/webinar-the-...
Not to mention that despite the name, LNG Canada is 100% foreign owned so profits will largely leave the country while Canadians will be left holding the bag if the Institute for Energy Economics & Financial Analysis is right and long-term demand for LNG in Asia fails to materialize. #cdnpoli
Nothing to celebrate here. It's a sad day.
Combined, LNG Canada Phases 1 & 2 will have downstream carbon emissions roughly equivalent to TOTAL annual domestic emissions for all of BC.
Phases 2 will only result in about 240 more permanent jobs.

The myth Alberta 'subsidizes' the rest of Canada is the most powerful meme in the separatist armoury. But it's utterly false. I show that most Albertans get more back from federal programs than they personally pay in federal taxes, for

Tara Mahoney nails it: "When the public broadcaster reports on wildfires, heat, & extreme weather without connecting the dots to fossil fuels, it leaves Canadians without the context they need to understand the crisis unfolding around them." ricochet.media/media/canada... @cbcradiocanada.bsky.social
Every article about wildfires and wildfire smoke needs to explicitly connect these climate disasters to burning fossil fuels.
If we want to breathe clean air and not have our neighbours' homes destroyed by wildfires, we need to stop using public money to subsidize fossil fuel projects.

Did you know more than 775,000 people in BC earn less than it costs to live in their community?
This is what our new report co-published with Living Wage BC finds. We call on all levels of government to step up and address the affordability crisis. @bcpolicy.bsky.social bcpolicy.ca/2026/05/28/w...
