Every student should be able to access a nutritious school meal without stigma or barriers.

Urge your Members of Congress to cosponsor the Universal School Meals Program Act (S. 4518/H.R. 8798) and make Healthy School Meals for All permanent nationwide.

SNAP strengthens local economies. Every $1 in SNAP benefits generates up to $1.80 in economic activity during downturns. When participation declines, that economic activity disappears, hurting grocers, farmers, and communities.

The Universal School Meals Program Act (S. 4518/H.R. 8798) would make Healthy School Meals for All permanent nationwide.

The SNAP administrative cost shift affects every family waiting for an application to be processed, every community experiencing rising food insecurity, and every state budget balancing growing needs with fewer available resources. frac.org/wp-content/u...

@fracposts.bsky.socialOct 1, 2026, 2:32 PM

As of October 1, states are responsible for 75% of SNAP administrative costs, up from 50%. This significant cost shift will strain already tight state budgets, reduce agencies’ ability to manage SNAP effectively, and likely result in service delays and staffing reductions.

@fracposts.bsky.socialSep 30, 2026, 2:45 PM

Starting Oct. 1, D.C. and Maryland will take on a greater share of SNAP administrative costs as the federal share drops from 50% to 25%.
