It's lucky the People's Voice of Flintshire didn't run, the result would have been very different! 😜

This is why we do need to increase defense spending. It should be a wake up call to how vulnerable the UK is

Place names which sound totally unlike they 'look' is another great British tradition. (Leominster I'm looking at you). Cymraeg isn't the only traditional language which is (and should be) used in place names. I know Farteg is spoken as Varteg in Cymraeg. Let's not be too serious

Slightly rude sounding place names are a great British tradition. Bring on Farteg, then head to Twatt, Shitterton or Crapstone.

Feels like he's in an ankle deep paddling pool rather than deep water. Although it's good to keep the party in the news cycle

This is of major concern in Wales as well. Funding in England would result in Barnett consequentials which are badly needed to tackle fuel poverty in rural areas

1 in 4 homes in Westmorland and Lonsdale were built before 1900. They are very expensive to heat and difficult to insulate. I'm urging the Government to come forward with a plan to insulate older properties - which would cut energy bills and keep people warm this winter.

'In the 1980s and 90s Lincoln, like many cities, was struggling as its long-established engineering factories closed down, while a lack of higher education opportunities led to many young people moving away.' Which history will repeat itself at Lincoln?

That confuses dealing with the current crises where people have no choice but to pay the higher price and long term strategies to invest in public transport/active travel to make modal shifts possible. That's why LibDems have policies for both

@steveaich.bsky.socialOct 8, 2026, 11:56 AM

Not as delicious as the implosion of the Greens if they lose

@steveaich.bsky.socialOct 8, 2026, 11:53 AM

Yup, simples - vote LibDem!

@steveaich.bsky.socialOct 8, 2026, 11:44 AM

This is a good policy, although it only saves the motorist the extra VAT they are paying due to the price rise. Perhaps a dynamic policy which alters fuel duty based on the price of oil and keeps pump prices more stable. Neutral for gov due to VAT

That must have been a hard decision @phildavies1995.bsky.social , you've always struck me as a very thoughtful and caring person, so good luck with whatever comes next

Eating 50g/day of processed meat has a cancer-risk effect broadly comparable in absolute terms to regularly drinking a small amount of alcohol — around a 1 percentage-point lifetime increase — not remotely comparable to smoking.

@steveaich.bsky.socialOct 6, 2026, 3:46 PM

That's a BS comparison. 50g/day processed meat (~2 rashers) raises bowel-cancer risk ~18% relatively: Absolute risk changes from 5.6%→6.6% over lifetime. Current smoking raises lung-cancer risk ~9-fold (900%); absolute risk goes from 0.4%→15%.

Skipping such an important debate and vote is not what a true leader would do. This just emphasises how much of a charlatan Zack Polanski is.
