Rejected NYT Spelling Bee words
@rejectednytwords.bsky.social
Someone has to hold these people to account
I was surprised by that and also another -LIKE word but to be fair they're in the dictionary! So if they hadn't been accepted I would definitely have been snarky from the other side
on a scale of "stuck two normal words together" to "kwbbfocopa" what are we talking here
if I have to listen to these all day long (I do) then I should get points for it for sure
@rejectednytwords.bsky.social IRID
also DADO
@rejectednytwords.bsky.social No AIRPOD???
hmmm ... I don't know if I'd say this reaches the status of loanword if you only ever see it on menus
Merriam-Webster labels this "informal + impolite". just like me
@rejectednytwords.bsky.social coming in dark, dark blue for missing HEATMAP
@rejectednytwords.bsky.social NYT has no appreciation for fungi -- "hyphae" was rejected.
@rejectednytwords.bsky.social tartaric
