I hosted a roundtable on Parliament Hill about the need for a national strategy and funding for childhood cancer research. Thank you to ACCESS and to the families and survivors of childhood cancer who spoke so eloquently. We have heard you and we will keep fighting for you and future children.

A proud moment for Canada. 🇨🇦 Congratulations to Canadian poet and author Anne Carson on winning the 2026 Nobel Prize in Literature. Your words remind us of the remarkable talent we have here at home, and the impact Canadian voices continue to have around the world.

Cultural diplomacy is a key way that we can build bridges across borders. My constituent Varavadi Monaghan loved Anne of Green Gables so much she translated them into Thai. Now university students in Thailand are reading these stories. Thanks to the Thai ambassador for presenting me with the books.

Our government supports the full and safe participation of girls in sport. I visited a girls soccer camp at Agincourt School, where girls have fun and learn soccer. I also enjoyed talking to the young women who are learning mentoring and coaching techniques through this federally funded program.

On the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we honour Survivors, their families and communities, and remember the children who never returned home. May we continue to listen, learn and advance reconciliation every day. Every Child Matters. 🧡

I brought greetings to the Ukrainian Women’s Association of Canada 100th anniversary! Ukrainian-Canadian women have preserved their culture, language and traditions and contributed significantly to Canadian society. We recognized the determination and strength of Ukrainian people. Slava Ukraini!

Today we had a productive meeting of the National Capital Region Liberal caucus with mayors of Ottawa and Gatineau, local stakeholders like Invest Ottawa, representatives of Ottawa tourism, Colleges and Universities, housing providers and more. We’re all working to make NCR the best place to live.

Today at the Aero Gatineau Air Show we watched as the iconic snowbirds flew with one of the new CT-157 Siskin II aircraft which will replace them. A spectacular and emotional farewell at the last public performance of the Snowbirds.

Today the Royal Ottawa hospital opened its new urgent care centre. It provides a less overwhelming space, saves time for first responders and allows people to access direct help. With armchairs and calming colours instead of examining rooms, patients will get timely access to the supports they need.

I always enjoy spending time at the Bayshore Park community garden and oven. It’s a wonderful way to bring the whole community together to bake pizzas and share different cultural recipes, have some fun and teach kids about growing vegetables, nutrition and baking. Join them again this Saturday 1-4!

We announced funding for free tax clinics will be year-round. I’m proud that Pinecrest-Queensway Community Health Centre will be an implementing partner. Last year they helped 727 people fill in tax returns which accessed over $5 million in benefits and credits. Now they can provide help all year.

A great weekend of community activities. My team and I had a table at the Carlingwood End of Summer BBQ and Parkwood Hills movie night. It was great to talk with neighbours, especially the teens who came by to learn more about what an MP does and share their views. Thanks to everyone who stopped by!
