And a special thanks to all the people who I had informal talks to off the record as well (you know who you are). I hope it properly captures the complexity and significance of both Freeplay's history and importance, and I hope people find it interesting!

Earlier this year Freeplay announced that 2026 might be their last year of operation. I've spent the last few weeks talking to people in and around Freeplay about this point in its history regarding how its changed, its relationship to funding and what it might look like in the future.
