He looks so freakin’ beautiful! Thank you so much, Pail!
Conclusion: Saw X was surprisingly good, and such a good way to sympathize with the villain, and how this moment really escalated his mission. Despite its problems, it's definitely the better movie than Spiral and Jigsaw! Overall Score: 7 soccer balls out of 10
Plus, some of those in traps would realistically pass out from the intense pain, or go into shock after a shocking amount of blood loss. Even as good as this film gets, with some unique traps and setups, it's still repeating some of the same mistakes from past films. 7/
Another problem is that some of the gory scenes, although very graphic, doesn't seem that believable scientifically. No spoilers, but there's one involving the brain, and fun fact: your brain has no nerve receptors. One can't scream in pain if your brain is being messed with. 6/
I do have some problems with the film, starting with something minor, but easily noticeable; for something that takes place before the majority of the SAW films, John Kramer looks older than his previous appearances, and it's quite distracting once you make a side-by-side comparison. 5/
This is the first where you get to see John's side of things, and how he ended up getting cheated out of a potential miracle cure for his brain cancer. Don't know when this film takes place chronologically, but it does show a strong motivation on why he does what he does. 4/
The fact this is a more focused story shows a lot of characterization, instead of having a B plot of detectives and police going all over the movie for nothing. This is very straightforward with a simple premise, and bloody good execution. This is easily the best out of these modern SAW films. 3/
This is basically a prequel to some of the previous films of the SAW franchise, but what separates this film from the other prequel films is that it puts John Kramer in the main protagonist role, when most of the time he's in the main villain role, or makes physical cameos for flashbacks. 2/

Tenth movie is Saw X (2023)! First milestone of the month! A sick and desperate John travels to Mexico for a risky and experimental medical procedure in hopes of a miracle cure for his cancer only to discover the entire operation is a scam to defraud the most vulnerable. 1/
Conclusion: Seed of Chucky seems fine for what it is, but unsure if I'll see it again. It had some funny moments, but some jokes do get stale. The kills were creative, I'll give it that. Might need to see the past films. Overall Score: 5 turkey basters out of 10
It's the more crude addition to the franchise when it comes to humor, as expected from the early 2000s; body fluids, immature gestures, pop culture references, etc. I've heard through the grapevine that this was one of the weaker ones among the series, but I still had fun with it. 6/
Glen/Glenda doesn't have many characteristics besides being Made In Japan, knowing martial arts, and having an English/Irish accent. I also might've missed the context on how two murderous dolls obtain the ability to conceive, but I don't think the movie truly cares. 5/
I'm surprised to see Billy Boyd play as their... genderfluid kid, Glen/Glenda. So does that mean Pippin is the lovechild of Jennifer Tilly and Grima Wormtongue? ... I don't want to think any further. As the child of Chucky, they seem interesting, and at times find them kinda boring? 4/
It has some funny meta humor, like how they got Tiffany's voice actress, Jennifer Tilly, to play as herself and interacting with her doll self. I was hoping they would throw in Brad Dourif to meet Chucky at some point, to fill in the whole Hollywood aesthetic. 3/
I know I have missed quite a few films after Child's Play, but I just happen to see this in passing. So, without knowing anything before this film, I do appreciate the transition from supernatural slasher horror to a black comedy slasher. It allows the franchise to not take some things seriously. 2/
Ninth movie is Seed of Chucky (2004) Chucky and Tiffany are resurrected by their innocent gender-confused child, Glen/Glenda, and hit Hollywood, where a movie depicting the killer dolls' murder spree is underway. I just happen to see this with my siblings, so I'm counting it. 1/
