Hey, technically, you have a minute. Between the end and beginning. I’d say yes. Do you have a festival pass tho because that will help.
A rare moment earlier this morning of having a brief breakfast and trying to catch up with the online edition of Le Giornate del Cinema Muto. #SilentFilm #Pordenone
I watched #TheWickerMan (1973) back in the early 90s on TV (I was way too young to watch it) and remember wondering why it looked so bad.
Watching it on #BBCFOUR at the mo and thinking how amazing it looks now. You can watch it on #BBCiPlayer as well: www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m...

Ealing Studios’ wartime propaganda piece Nine Men (1943) is making an appearance in @talkingpicturestv.bsky.social today at 3:15pm. Directed by Harry Watt.
A rather fascinating film given the fact it’s set in the Libyan desert, but was entirely shot on Margam Sands, Glamorgan.

Sorry to hear the passing of film historian Arthur Lennig (1933-2026). We first knew Arthur via his work and writing on the cinema. But, luckily, we were able to get to know him even more while attending Le Giornate Del Cinema Muto, #Pordenone. We'll be lifting a glass (and ice cream) to you Arthur.
One of my favourite Ealing Studios films is on @talkingpicturestv.bsky.social this morning, 11:30am, Saloon Bar (1940). A great little murder mystery film set in a pub (most of the time).
Directed by Walter Forde and starring Gordon Harker, Elizabeth Allan and Mervyn Johns.
Congratulations! One of my favourite podcasts… as you well know. Nearly all the film books I buy are because of this.
By the way pals Writers on Film breezed past its 300th episode without much fanfare a few weeks ago. I really have no time to promote the show at all! But I am hugely grateful to those who listen and the guests who come on podcasts.apple.com/it/podcast/w...
