Postseason pitchers had a collective Stuff+ of 105 in the reg season (100 = ave). They've pushed it to 107 S+ in playoffs. There's a cost. Their 102 Location+ in regular season => 98 L+ in playoffs. Better hitters inspire worse locations. But could hard usage also be a factor?

By ERA-, this ALWCS features the fourth-worst (Astros) and ninth-worst (White Sox) starting rotations among the 386 playoff teams since free agency began. It's the only time two bottom-ten teams have faced each other.

amazingly, it's only the 39th worst rotation out of 386 playoff rotations since 1974! The White Sox and Astros are bottom ten....
