@derbycountyblog.bsky.socialHaven't had the energy to do a match report about ...that. If you saw it, you saw it, if you didn't, you know the result.
I think the match preview piece I contributed to Loft For Words basically sums up the reasons why #dcfc are so pathetically bad at the moment.
@derbycountyblog.bsky.socialHe sacked Rosenior...
@derbycountyblog.bsky.socialDynamism and mobility are what #dcfc are lacking. There were too many ageing veterans in the side - Morris (as much as I like him), Hedges, Szmodics, Mowatt, Ward. We looked old and slow, and made it seem like the pitch was too big for us.
Fraulo didn't even get off the bench 🤷♂️
@derbycountyblog.bsky.socialI think #dcfc are deep, deep, deep in the merde.
@derbycountyblog.bsky.socialOne of the most embarrassing #dcfc performances in years. Arguably going back as far as Jewell. Injuries are no excuse, all teams have to cope with them.
Too many players in this squad are old and slow. Ageing hacks like Mowatt, Hedges, Ward leave the team lacking athleticism. It's an absolute mess
@derbycountyblog.bsky.socialHard truth is #dcfc are currently fielding a League One-standard defence and goalkeeper, and unless something changes fairly drastically, we're at serious risk of heading there.
Yes, injuries have been horrific and are getting worse by the game, but the standards tonight have been inexcusably poor

Important to take the positives from an improved performance. Makeshift full backs aside, #dcfc have the bones of a decent team, with match-winners in attack and a fine young midfielder in Ozoh.
Spirit of Fighters Not Victims needs to be relocated.
@derbycountyblog.bsky.socialA galling late equaliser spoils #dcfc's afternoon, just when it looked like they'd grind out a first home win of the season. To be undone by a hit-and-hope cross was awful. Win the aerial duel, or track the runner, and we win the game. Couldn't do it Looks like we're in for a long, gruelling season

After a five-and-a-half year hiatus, it's time to get the band back together. Grizzled Blogcast veteran Chris Smith joins yr host, with hip young gunslinger @gimjee94.bsky.social making an electric, Festy-esque debut.
Mostly, we talk Eustace...
@derbycountyblog.bsky.socialHopefully, Man City's punishment is a points deduction monumental enough that they end up taking #dcfc's all-time low points record... It would be a fitting outcome for an organisation that cheated so flagrantly for so long to inherit the title of Worst Team In History (TM)
@derbycountyblog.bsky.socialA podcast in which we discuss
John Eustace. At length...
The "club v Eustace signings" debate, and why it matters
Fuseini's wondergoal at Burnley. A crucial turning point?
Max Johnston. Will he ever get a run in the team?
Who are the players who will lead #dcfc to a better season?
And much more!
@gimjee94.bsky.socialReposted by @derbycountyblog.bsky.socialI wasn't even described as hip and young when I was in my 20s.
A pleasure to be involved in the revival of the Blogcast, wouldn't have missed it for the world (despite being half an hour late...) #dcfcfans

@derbycountyblog.bsky.socialMonumental relief for #dcfc, as Fuseini's astonishing strike stops us from dropping to the foot of the table. I dread to think what the mood would be like today had that gone wide.
Still plenty of problems for Eustace to solve before this season turns around. Three-week break now is a good thing.
@derbycountyblog.bsky.socialEnjoyable hour on BBC Radio Derby earlier, discussing all things #dcfc ahead of the trip to Burnley:

Based on players' lack of form, and the incessant rolling list of injuries, it's not an easy task for anybody to do. But John Eustace needs to find a way to win.
