It's always a pleasure heading to the OCTM Annual Conference! I'm excited to represent @desmos.com and chat about Calculus tomorrow up in Sandusky. #iteachmath
I know Desmos already does 3D, but this makes it a lot easier to embed 3D stuff into 2D graphs:

Looking at iterative solutions to equations today, so I wrote this root finder in @desmos.com, utilising the Newton-Raphson method. r(a, n) uses n iterations starting at x=a to identify a root.
Love this as a feature request! I would echo the recommendations here for using a `t` parameter, but I'd love to hear what else would feel intuitive here. It seems potentially surprising to always display these segments, but curious what sort of toggle would be ideal.
You can finally get your ducks in a row (and column). Type “matrix” in any Desmos graphing tool to get started.

Sounds like a great start to me.
I’d rather not say.

documented trying to make this animation better in @desmos.com here: youtu.be/Q5YFI8yzKXg
Suppose you take k points in the interval [0,2π] (spaced apart by 2π/k) and map them to the rose curve r = cos nθ. Then you can get interesting looking graphs - and sometimes, a regular polygon. (Thanks to @helsig.bsky.social for the idea.)

This is Part 2 of a three-part series exploring how Desmos Notebook can help us represent and illuminate mathematical ideas. All are welcome to have some fun with Notebook!
To register for this and other upcoming webinars, head to community.desmos.com/c/events
Join us this Wednesday for the webinar “Surfacing Math Thinking with Desmos Notebook” hosted by Dewey Gottlieb.
We'll use Notebook to create dynamic geometric visualizations that can help students make connections between algebraic, tabular, and graphic representations. #mathsky #iteachmath
