Can confirm @kevinbonham.bsky.social’s observation: that Topher guy has utterly no idea what he’s talking about and, worse, very confidently fantasises data.

Self-crowned king of the trees and the animals. Powered by ancient spirits of evil. My views, &c. I don't write for bad faith readers.

this is a cool graphic and a terrible fucking martini
Ol’ Timbo has a lot of extremely weird takes about ‘freedom of speech’. There’s no rational justification for allowing footage of people dying to circulate as entertainment, so his fallback is simply ‘But you can’t have censorship!’
Australia has a long history of opposing the use of the death penalty by US States. This is such a weird, ahistorical take.
‘How can we censor the video without censorship?’ asks Tim Wilson. Answer: ‘We can’t. We have worked out that censorship is a tool that can be used productively.’
Ruin a book by adding a word? The word is always By-Dan-Brown

Tonight, on everybody’s favourite game show: Independent Journalist or Just Some Guy Starting a Podcast?
Finally saw The Castle (1997). Anyway, Michael Caton is actually the devil incarnate, I’d use the “baby Hitler” Time Machine on him instead
There's a lovely mixed field of Milkmaids (pictured, burchardia umbellata), bulbine lilies, wax lips, tall sundews and grey parrot peas.

Extremely close. Then listened carefully to discover that my gacked up sinuses make me sound like I am mispronouncing a person’s name… so close!
Made some headway with a project that has been on my list for a few years… and am determined not to let technology beat me at the last hurdle.
What a statistical improbability that so many of these errors turn out to be in favour of the business owner and not the worker…
Gerard’s view of balance has always been a bit weird. ‘The Australia Institute makes bad arguments (leftishly) so we need voices to make bad arguments (rightishly)!’
/Probably/ a false flag, wink wink, nudge nudge. Not saying it is, ‘just asking questions’. That whole end of the media ecosystem is a swamp.
Senator Matt Canavan’s only pre-Senate jobs have been working for the Productivity Commission, working for KPMG, and working as a political staffer. Why is he giving speeches dressed in high vis mining gear?
‘If these students walked out in support of Pauline Hanson, would the same people be cheering them on?’ Time to shut down the think tanks. Between this, Per Crapita’s sludge, and the truly bizarre government supermarket proposal, they’re doing more harm than good.
