An important bit of immigration law which is relevant here; there is already a waiver process — Section 212(k) of the INA — by which immigrants who obtain status through fraud that they didn't know about can avoid consequences like losing a green card. So this is *even weaker* than it already seems.

Via Fox News, natch: A criminal raid, right before the election, based on some paperwork Omar’s dad filled out decades ago www.foxnews.com/politics/ilh...

The raid stems from a criminal fraud investigation into the Somali-born congresswoman's immigration paperwork, which was filled out by her late father when she was a child.
Two sources close to the investigation confirmed the details of the probe Thursday, after border czar Tom Homan said in mid-September that the progressive congresswoman was subject to an ongoing "criminal" investigation.

Another flash flood in Nepal as the country is still trying to recover their dead from the last one. This is what climate change looks like now. My heart goes out to all the families suffering devastating loss in Nepal. 💔

Nyt had a zillion photos to choose from to illustrate the story of Sen. Marshall’s campaign not paying a cookie debt to a small Kansas bakery. And they chose the one of a guy who looks like he just got caught stealing a cookie from a small Kansas bakery.

Here's a funny one - I bought an old receipt printer on eBay and have been using it to print daily poems from the Early Black Press. Got a raspberry pi & button on the way. I'm gonna see if I can make a little poetry machine to take with me around town, events, etc.

A photo of a receipt with the poem "Bury Me in a Free Land" by Francis Ellen Watkins Harper. Just printing out a bunch more poems by Francis Harper in this photo of my Epson receipt printer

Saw this ad on Facebook. Is it just me, or does “The Cashmere Bomber” sound like a nickname for a terrorist from the Hamptons?

Facebook ad for a bomber jacket ostensibly made of cashmere, named, cleverly enough, “the cashmere bomber.”

Text: “The cashmere bomber has landed.

The winner of the Nobel Peace Prize in 2026 is Navi Pillay, a brave extraordinary woman who has served at the International Criminal Court prosecuting genocide, war crimes and crimes against humanity. Immediately after being notified she had won, she mocked the orange felon on video. Love her. 💙👊

Whether it's computer literacy or actual literacy or the concept of the germ theory of disease or the idea that we live in a society, it's interesting how in the last quarter century adults basically just assumed they didn't actually have to teach it anymore. That obviously kids already know it.

It would really be great if folks not affiliated with the Trump Administration could stop using "Department of War." The Department of Defense is a statutory creation, and the name is statutorily given--the administration cannot unilaterally change it.
