It’s my birthday. I’m old.

I don’t even know how to use shrinky dinks or resin. The other day this kid made a hand drawn animation on their iPad. Sometimes they ask for help with how to use the apps and I can’t even help because I DON’T ANIMATE. There’s no excuse for prompting slop. Never will be.

I need to double down on how cool this is. They asked me throughout the week what my favorite animal, favorite color, favorite dessert, etc was. They didn’t copy this, it’s all from their brain to the paper. Also, I’ve never taught them anything. AI isn’t coming for my job, but this kid is.

My 9 year old drew this on shrinky dink paper and shrank it and coated it with resin to turn it into a plastic keychain to give to me as a birthday gift. Fuck AI, my 9 year old art-mogs any prompter.

I don’t mind knowing when I’ve caused offense. It gives me the opportunity to both understand and be understood a little better. It’s ok.

I have both adhd and autism and I was being playful with the way I’m analyzing media through that lens. No harm was meant, but if harm was caused regardless I apologize! Many of us in comics are neurodivergent so I tend to assume my joking about it is relatable, but I suppose I shouldn’t assume!

I have adhd and autism and was enjoying seeing aspects of each in the characters. Analyzing media this way helps me process stuff and see the humanity in it. No disrespect is ever intended, ever. I’ll be extra careful in the future just in case because I don’t want to hurt anyone at all 💖.
