On or about Nov. 22, through Dec. 1, 2026, the Wayne Avenue and Fenton Street intersection will be closed overnight from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. for approximately two weeks. The closure is required to safely install overhead catenary wires. Resident and pedestrian access maintained.

This month, we welcomed Maryland Transit Administration's newly appointed Administrator, Tony Bridges to the Purple Line office. During his visit, Administrator Bridges connected with staff and shared his appreciation for the dedication and hard work bringing Maryland’s newest transit line to life.
ICYMI, MTA Purple Line joined Quantum World Congress at the University of Maryland to explore the future of transit and innovation in Maryland, reflecting the Moore-Miller Administration's vision. Attendees had the chance to see an LRV, learn more about the project and grab some swag!

We had a blast at Buckets and Beats in downtown Silver Spring! It was great seeing so many young community members excited about the Purple Line and how they’ll be able to use it in the future to connect with friends, attend events, and travel around their community.
