All women’s sports pretty much all the time University of Washington Reporter, Editor | The Equalizer Reporter | The Next also available for freelance 🤞
@munson-bella.bsky.socialThis is no hate to Kate who is just doing her job. But we have seen first hand the kind of basic context lacked by reporters who come in to help out and then ask beat reporters for - not being there consistently affects quality of coverage!!!
@munson-bella.bsky.social(Yes Seahawks and UW football are each getting multiple beat reporters) shows exactly how much you “value” women’s sports and their quality coverage
@munson-bella.bsky.socialThere are so many things wrong with this. What has particularly angered me since I first heard is that womens sports are not a monolith! Each team and sport deserves its own unique coverage and beat writer, same as the men! Putting them all in one bucket while football teams get 2 writers each…
@jeremiah.sounderatheart.comReposted by @munson-bella.bsky.socialThis is notably difficult to do when you’re not actually covering these beats. They’re expecting you to believe they’ll do “subject expert” level coverage without having anyone on the team-specific beats.

@equalizersoccer.bsky.socialReposted by @munson-bella.bsky.socialWelcome back Savannah DeMelo💜
For the first time since going into cardiac arrest mid-game on Sept. 14, 2025, DeMelo took to the #NWSL pitch for Racing Louisville and said, "It definitely was a surreal moment... because there were some times I didn’t know if I was going to be able to do that again.”
@richardcohen.bsky.socialReposted by @munson-bella.bsky.socialCan confirm the below numbers/distribution. Draw still only used for the top-two in the WNBA, so Houston (formerly Connecticut) will get #3 at worst. #WNBA
@jacobmox.bsky.socialReposted by @munson-bella.bsky.socialPer source to @herhoopstats.com, 2027 WNBA Draft lottery distribution:
HOU - 329*
TOR - 329*
WAS (via CHI) - 161
SEA - 93
POR - 52
LA - 24
LA (via PHX) - 12
*In the event both HOU and TOR are jumped in the lottery, the order would be Houston-Toronto.

@equalizersoccer.bsky.socialReposted by @munson-bella.bsky.socialThe Reign have a new all-time leading scorer! Jess Fishlock scored a brace Friday night to pass fellow club original Megan Rapinoe for the club regular season record with 52 goals, securing a crucial win in Seattle's playoff hunt.
@theixsports.bsky.socialReposted by @munson-bella.bsky.socialDespite ending their season with a loss to the Dallas Wings last night, the Seattle Storm have shown so much growth from the start of their season and left the court with a standing ovation from their fans.

@munson-bella.bsky.socialReporting for @theixsports.bsky.social
@munson-bella.bsky.socialTalking about the game when she got injured, she said she wanted to shoot the free throws after it happened, even though she knew she was done for the season: "If this gonna be my last game I at least want to get my free throws off... I just wanted to get my last two in."
@munson-bella.bsky.socialSeattle Storm guard Zia Cooke addressed her "first real injury" in her career, a lower leg fracture a few games ago, in exit interviews, saying she now sees it as an opportunity to step back and take it as a blessing in disguise. The plan is 6 weeks, "should be back healthy, ready to go."
@munson-bella.bsky.socialShe spoke about the Australia basketball medical staff and the Storm medical staff having built a strong relationship because of her early season injury suffered in FIBA Qualifying play, and how that gave her confidence in going through rehab with both organizations.
@munson-bella.bsky.socialMagbegor added later that she will be doing the first couple months of her rehab in Seattle and then continue it back home in Australia (just in time for Australian summer). Her sister has flown out to help her post-surgery and Magbegor is excited for her to cook for her.
@munson-bella.bsky.socialSeattle Storm center Ezi Magbegor confirmed in her exit interview today that she is getting surgery for her torn ACL in her right knee tomorrow.
