What sets their brand of indie wonk-pop apart is their ability to provide an insight, with a self-deprecating openness, into modern life for young women.

I think one of the key issues right now is the capacity of humans to be co-operative in the face of increasing crises, conflicts and disasters. Capitalism conditions us to believe that we’re inherently competitive creatures – but I just don’t buy this. ✍️ Paul Allender

Tom Cruise is a polarising actor. While some see him as a fearless champion of the cinema experience, others think of him as a stuntman playing himself. So it’s only natural that 'Digger' is the most polarising film of the year. ✍️ Jamie Hartle

We recently invited representatives from Sheffield’s voluntary and community sectors to look at neighbourhoods across the city, asking them to select a starting set to invest in as a demonstrator for what new forms of neighbourhood democracy might look like. Find out more on the Opus Blog ⤵️

The NHS was created on the understanding that healthcare is something we provide collectively, not a market opportunity to be carved up between competing private interests. Our data should be treated in the same way.

Swifts are incredibly faithful to their nesting places, but when older buildings are repaired, the gaps they used for nesting get blocked.

@sheffswiftnetwork.bsky.social is attempting to build a network of people and neighbourhoods that gives swifts somewhere to nest across #Sheffield.

TideTied’s new single, ‘Lover of Mine’, is dipped in 1960s psychedelica. Haywood's lyrics remind me of Jackson C. Frank or Jefferson Airplane, where the lines between the real and the supernatural become increasingly blurred.
