We just wrapped up watching today's #OEGlobal26 keynote and it inspired a hearty discussion about gov't support of OER in US vs Canada vs EU.

We're also so lucky to be joined in person by 2 faculty from U. Bordeaux Montaigne who expanded on Luc's perspective from France!

Starting the day at #OEGlobalYVR by watching this morning's Keynote, and so happy to see my deartl friend Dr Jackie Bucio García from UNAM bringing a perspective from Mexico!

Third and final day of #OEGlobalYVR! Yesterday we talked and listened a lot about the importance of infrastructure in #OpenEducation #oer so I thought it'd be a good time to shout @translink.ca and SkyTrain, Metro Van's pride & joy public transit. Public infrastructure benefits us all!

In particular, the alley pictured above here in New Westminster is blocked off like 60 days of the year just for filming movies. 😂

Is there a secret #OEGlobal26 event in San Francisco? You might think so based on this fog, but also because lots of places around Vancouver end up reprising the role of famous cities & other places in lots of movies.

OMW to go get ready for day 2 of #OEGlobalYVR. Today's theme: building Bridges

In the spirit of Curt Newton using the word "triptych" during his #OEGlobal26 session, here's our own three-parter from Vancouver :D

Good morning #OEGlobal26 from foggy New Westminster, BC! Drinking coffee and then heading over to The Permanent to start setting up for #OEGlobalYVR. See y'all soon!

Getting all the things ready for #OEGlobalYVR tomorrow! It's a big bag.

Parents who try to get books banned deserve therapy for whatever happened in to them in their lives that got them to that point, because their children deserve to have parents that actually take the role seriously.

@petermusser.comOct 4, 2026, 6:49 PM

Also, don't vote people who 1) call for book bans, 2) won't stand up to them, or 3) are *actual* sex criminals. There are SO MANY WAYS to contribute.

@petermusser.comOct 4, 2026, 6:49 PM

Do you want a healthy democracy and a strong civil society again? Fight book bans by supporting groups like @amlibraryassoc.bsky.social and @aclu.org, defend librarians and LGBTQ+ people, and go read a fucking book. Here's a great list! bookresumes.uniteagainstbookbans.org

It's #BannedBooksWeek! The people who most frequently demand books are removed from libraries are well-documented villains.

Rich people fund groups like Moms for Liberty bc fabricating moral outrage against librarians/writers/queer people is a great bait and switch against real problems.

Let books be.

Today kicks off #BannedBooksWeek, an annual observation started more than 40 years ago in response to a sudden surge in attempts to censor or remove books in libraries, schools, and bookstores. Sound familiar?

Find ways to get involved and spread the word: https://bit.ly/4yvixbB.

Text at bottom reads "Protect the freedom to read. Banned Books Week, October 4-10, 2026." American Library Association. ala.org/bbooks
