time for US-Canada relations, and we have never had a President who adequately grappled with the genocide the US perpetuated against indigenous North Americans, but it was inspiring to be present with a group of people committed to finding a way forward. (2/2)

This Indigenous Peoples' Day, I was proud to join the Canadian Consul General and representatives of the Lenape Nation for a gift of two maple trees by the Canadian government, to be planted in City Hall Park. It goes without saying that our President has made this a rough (1/2)

I’m honored to receive the endorsement of @nynurses.bsky.social! I was proud to stand with NYSNA nurses on their picket line last winter, and I’ll continue to stand with them in the assembly.

In this installment of State Government 101, I cover the final steps of how a bill finally becomes a law, and how long it can take for a bill to be signed and enacted!

A tour of the Hudson Square BID, cleaning our neighborhood with NYU’s Week of Celebrating Service, attending VID’s 69th annual gala, and enjoying free live music at Westbeth’s first Friday AND the Village Trip music festival — what a great week around the district!

I’m so honored to receive the endorsement of the New York State AFL-CIO! I look forward to partnering with them in Albany to fight for safe and healthy workplaces, regulate AI’s impact on labor, and support the countless working New Yorkers they represent.

Hoboken has not had a single fatal automobile accident since 2017. The only reason NYC can’t say the same is a lack of political will to protect New Yorkers. (4/4)

To the extent that the truck was traveling legally, NYC completely failed to provide adequate daylighting, traffic calming, and safety infrastructure at this intersection. (3/4)

@siffertforny.bsky.socialSep 22, 2026, 5:28 PM

According to the map linked below, no large trucks should have been allowed on that section of 14th street in the first place. I hope there is an investigation as to whether this truck was traveling along a legal route.

Cars and trucks kill over 1000 people in New York State each year, and every single one of those deaths is a policy failure. My heart is with the family of Daria Serkov. In New York City, we dramatically restrict where large trucks like this are permitted to drive. (1/4)
