Warna Cove? I remember Chris Heard finding the first on St Mary's in 1988. Pandemonium ensued!

That's a decent haul by anyone's standards, Graham.

This year has had its moments, but cannot touch 2025 mate. Busy planning for a more exciting 2027!

Good luck Adam. I agree, blog in safe hands with Thomas.

On this day last year - Scilly for a magnificent St Agnes quartet of Mourning Dove, American Pipit, Spotted Sandpiper and Hoopoe with good friends. One of the best days of my 2025 'Big Year' #ukbirding

Accorded celebrity status during it's 6-day stay, the Pendeen Lapland Bunting must have been the most visited individual of it's ilk anywhere in the British Isles during early October. An extremely confiding individual, It put on quite a show for ardent Longspur devotees #ukbirding #birdingCornwall

That's an amazing Chough count Matt! An amazing success story.

Says a lot about Yorkshire's fabulous track record Mick!

That's the one. Travelled overnight from Norfolk for a bird that had probably long gone.

That's a sad story, Stewart! You must surely be due one of those soon . . .

@andy-1963.bsky.socialOct 10, 2026, 9:43 AM

Aye. I remember dipping PG Tips up your way in the mid-90s. So glad to get one in Norfolk a few years later.

Agree Prof. Although I've been to Shetland on numerous occasions, I still haven't see all of those species on the Isles!

@andy-1963.bsky.socialOct 10, 2026, 6:11 AM

Nice one Steph. Some east winds needed to produce that Lancy!

Have seen most of the Shetland specialities in England: Great Snipe (Sandwell Valley 95), Pechora Pipit (St Leven 96), Lancy (Landguard 97), Rubythroat (Osmington Mills 97) PG Tips (Blakeney Point 02) & Yellow-breasted Bunting (Portland Bill 03). Anyone else done something similar? #ukbirding

Memory a bit hazy - you might well be right.

Top twitching James

@andy-1963.bsky.socialOct 9, 2026, 6:07 PM

Good effort! I forgot to list White's Thrush - Scilly in 99 I think.

I bet it did! Was a tremendous find and made many birders very happy.
