Unfortunately, the government pressed ahead with subsidising fossil fuels and punishing public transport users in the Budget despite widespread opposition.
They've promised that this will result in new services. Now, we need to hold them to that.

“Strand Road has not gone away... we are working on it, and we’ll be taking it to the area committee in due course"
Considering the #cycling infrastructure at either end of the route, Strand Road is a proper 'missing link' - building it would be transformative #Dublin via/ @irishcycle.com

On one hand we're subsidising reduced excise on fossil fuels by around €100million per month, & on the other we are raising public transport fares. This decision came out of the blue. It seems like we're robbing Peter to pay Paul. Why punish public transport users for making the sustainable choice?

We all agree, we shouldn’t have to pay more for public transport. We need to encourage people to make the sustainable choice, not punish them. If you agree, join us outside the Dáil on Thursday at 6pm.
It's a big evening in the men's Premier Division of the League of Ireland with all 10 clubs in action
