Psst…I hear you like sprayed edges 👀

Thanks to Lisa Marie Pompilio for the fantastic design! She does a lot of Orbit‘s covers and her work is always amazing.

ONE OF US IS ALREADY DEAD comes out Feb 23 next year from Run For It! www.hachettebookgroup.com/titles/e-l-c...

The cover of ONE OF US IS ALREADY DEAD, showing a creepy house at night on a glitchy camcorder screen, turned on an angle to reveal stenciled edges with a pattern of bleeding film stock on them.

Some more exciting news today! Everyone check out the cover reveal for Dami Salako's THE SUN HAS A SHADOW! 👀

The cover for THE SUN HAS A SHADOW by Dami Salako, coming May 18, 2027. The cover has a black dragon gripping and hanging off of the sun, screeching at an orange phoenix below it.

The cover copy for THE SUN HAS A SHADOW:

"Children of Blood and Bone meets The Scorpion and the Night Blossom in a high-stakes, YA afro-fantasy where two teens race across the desert to save a kingdom trapped in eternal darkness ... if the soldiers, dragons, and debt collectors don't catch up to them first.

In a world devoid of a sun, the night sky means death and we are living in its shadow.

After seven years of darkness Baba Alade is exhausted- being a courier shouldn't be that hard but when you have a bad leg, no dragon, and no sun, you can never rest. And on top of that he owes a dangerous dragon-summoner more money than he could ever hope to earn.

Out of options, he agrees to take Layo Sowande, to the Obsidian Mountains to get the payout he needs to start over. Unfortunately for him, Layo is full of secrets. But even worse-she's curious about his own.
As they race across the desert with half the kingdom chasing them down, Baba realizes this job might be more than he bargained for. Especially since the queen who plunged their world into darkness when she killed all the phoenix-summoners is hunting down a mysterious package... that Layo is carrying.

As tensions rise and secrets are revealed, Baba and Layo grow closer-but their enemies are getting closer too and if they want to see the sun rise again, they'll have to survive the night."
