Read more about the Food Date Labeling Act here! ๐Ÿ‘‡

By signing this bill, Governor Newsom has taken a huge step toward strengthening protections for young people. Thank you Assemblymember @joshlowenthal.bsky.social for championing this legislation!

These supplements are widely marketed to teens on platforms like TikTok with false promises and deceptive claims, despite limited evidence for effectiveness and documented safety concerns. FDA reports have linked weight-loss and muscle-building supplements to serious adverse outcomes in adolescents.

Great news! California Gov. Newsom has signed AB 2030, protecting kids from certain dangerous dietary supplements. The new law prohibits the sale of OTC diet pills and weight-loss or muscle-building supplements to minors, closing gaps that have made it easy for young people to access these products.

Today, CSPIโ€™s Litigation Department and co-counsel at the @aclu.org, @protectdemocracy.org, and others filed a class action lawsuit challenging the National Institutes of Healthโ€™s policy of blocking grants in order to censor views it disagrees with. We're unafraid to take this admin to court again.

With CSPI's Litigation department as co-counsel in this suit, we're proud to join this fight to take on the Trump admin's continuing efforts to unconstitutionally and unlawfully terminating thousands of medical research grants.
