@ashorguk.bsky.socialThe latest figures from the ONS show that for the first time ever, smoking prevalence in the UK has fallen below 10%. 🎉 The data shows that 4.9 million people in the UK currently smoke (9.8% of the population) following a long-term downward trend in smoking prevalence. 🚭

Smoking remains a leading preventable cause of heart attacks and strokes, causing tens of thousands of deaths each year in the UK.
