Congrats to Assoc. Prof. Keren Lasker on receiving a 2026 DARPA Young Faculty Award to engineer biomolecular condensates as “toxin traps” that capture and neutralize toxins. Once developed, Assoc. Prof. Michael G. Constantinides will lead preclinical studies evaluating their effectiveness.
Proteins can reshape themselves in less than a millisecond. Now, #HHMIInvestigator Dorothee Kern & team @scripps.edu have developed a machine learning model to predict these rapid changes, & it could help researchers uncover new connections between protein movement & human health: bit.ly/4d6klPH
Join Dr. Kelly to explore how his research on protein aggregation led to the discovery of tafamidis, the first effective drug for slowing the progression of a human amyloid disease.
