Look Outober Day 12) Angst

you'll always be my little baby

An illustration of Rat Child from Look Outside sleeping on a bed with the sheets kicked off, in a dark room in the middle of the night. RC here is shown to be much older and larger with a darker stripe of fur going down their back, implying the passage of much time since the game's events. They drool as they hang slightly off the mattress, their old baseball cap lies upside-down on the floor. Posters of metal bands hang above the headboard. Outside the open window is the dark city skyline of rebuilt Montreal. Sam, here in his form as Protector of Earth from the Denial Ending, is visible through the sky. One of his many vast blue trunks points its attention toward the window.

Sam sticks his limb through the window, just barely fitting through the frame. His multitude of small red feelers start popping out of the ripples and wrinkles of blue skin. Some start to carress his child's fur, while another lifts up the blanket that was crumpled on the floor. RC remains peacefully asleep through this.

Sam's massive limb slinks further into the room. He picks up his still sleeping child to cradle them as the limb curls around. The blanket has been pulled up around RC, their head now resting on Sam. The red tendrils continue to do various little actions like feeling around the room, petting RC's head, and holding RC tighter (some almost resembling a hand's fingers curled around to support RC's lower body). One even picks up the baseball cap to hang it on the headboard.
