Awwww
What has your experience in the fandom been like? You can watch my video here! ππ€π©Άπ€
At the end of the day, being an asexual furry is... just normal. I made a full video talking about this topic, answering common questions, and sharing some of my own experiences as an asexual furry, which you can watch below! I hope you like it. Shares will be much appreciated!
Sometimes the feeling of being "different" comes from assumptions we make about other furries. It's easy to look around and think that "everyone here is interested in things that I'm not." Usually, reality is far more diverse than that. The key word is DIVERSITY and RESPECT!
Another misconception is that being asexual somehow makes you "a weird furry." It doesn't. The furry fandom isn't built around sexuality alone. It's built around creativity and self-expression. We can fall in love. And yes, WE CAN and do engage in intimacy with our partnersβοΈπ¦
One big misconceptions is that asexual furries must feel uncomfortable in the fandom since some furry spaces are openly adult-oriented. In my experience, that's not really true. Most asexual furries aren't shocked by the existence of NSFW content, we don't really mind whatsoever!
Being asexual doesn't come with a handbook. Just like any other orientation, every asexual person experiences it differently. There isn't one "correct" way to be ace, and there certainly isn't one "correct" way to be a furry either. Understanding and talking is key at this point!
FURRY AND ASEXUAL? Yeah, weird combo... (not really) As an asexual furry, I've noticed that many people assume the furry fandom must be a strange place for "someone like me" so I decided to break it up on a video, because reality... is much less dramatic than most people think!

I cover this issue in particular in my latest video! Would you like to check it out? Link's below. I'd appreciate it if you shared it and let me know what your thoughts are on this matter! :)
How can conventions deal with this issue? At first, banning non-furries altogether seems like a quick solution, but that is quite unfair for genuine curious explorers. Content creator badges? That's a possible solution. But there's one certainty. This can't go on.
These "harassers" generally don't notice how harmful they can be. Fursuits get hot, they reduce our mobility, and cause us "heat stress". However, we enjoy it, and we love it; and taking advantage of our convention spaces to annoy us to the point of fuming is not okay.
A content harasser is an "influencer" who finds a space in our furry conventions to capitalize on our discomfort. A furry convention is a very special place for us. They are hard earned spaces where we can all be ourselved, but they have been threatened by these individuals.
