Happy Indigenous Peoples Day!
It's looking like the hurricane left me with some nerve pain due to the pressure changes, so if you've got a few coins to spare, I'd appreciate it

We finished the playtest campaign of @jenkatwrites.bsky.social 's "Before the Season Ends" today and it was both sad and wonderful.
The game is a true gem and I can't wait to see the finished version! It really gets at the core of female friendship, emotions, societal pressure, and more. š
What is up with IRON on IRON on IRON? Why does it exist? Why should you read it? Is it for me?
A SWORD AND MUD TTRPG
Last weekend, @backwardsttrpg.bsky.social, @jenkatwrites.bsky.social and I played "Xeno: Desperation" by @planesailinggames.com, an Alien-inspired blue-collar horror hack of Desperation by Jason Morningstar.
It worked really well, particularly with the great PCIO online setup that Alex created...
Wednesday's class was about tabletop role-playing games and it was just great.
We played Desperation and Zhenya's Wonder Tales by @jmstar.bsky.social as well as Making History by Jonathan Proctor and @cmichpress.bsky.social.

Incredible. If she streamed live, she would probably destroy the Internet with her wholesome content.
Your mom's adventure in Stardew Valley continues. Easily one of my highlights in this sad era of the Internet.
#mƶrktober 1: goat
this piece was inspired, in part, by @gamefiend.bsky.social's call for more black faces in ttrpg stock art. in that spirit, this piece and any other piece i post this month with "mƶrktober" in the image is free to use for anything, by anyone (except AI skimmers & chuds.) #art
4 out 5 imaginary ttrpg scientists agree that back The Decay makes you cooler, smarter, and more attractive. I don't know why I made up a scientist who disagrees with me. I'll have to imagine more scientists to look into it.

Two days ago, I shared the first essay of a new series that I've been working on. You can read it here and/or sign up if you're interested in the rest of the series. Next up will be an interview.
These are great, Gene!
Been glowing all day because of this review of Galatea. I especially love that it understands the central design trick I braided into the rules: how your gameplay strategy must change partway through even though the game itself hasnāt changed.
Reminder this is happening tomorrow!
Can we use bingo cards in TTRPGs?
The answer is a resounding yes! Check the comments on this week's Skeleton Code Machine article for examples provided by readers.
Season 2 of Ansible Uplink begins with a TIME WARP episode! @weepingstag.bsky.social joins to review the 1983 Classic Traveller module:
Adventure 9: Nomads of the World-Ocean by Andrew and William Keith.
It's my birthday today and of course I woke up to the gloomy British weather. š§ļø Would be great if folks would tell me what they like about my work or buy my games (which are 33% off on itchio). š
