Sounds like Day In Day Out?
I don't think it did, but happy to be corrected if wrong!
TOWERS OF LONDON was released on this day in 1980. #XTCmusic
🎙️ Just published a new episode of What Do You Call That Noise? The XTC Podcast: Anton Barbeau: working with XTC’s Colin Moulding and Dave Gregory. Have a listen:
Where it all began. The first release under the XTC name, the 3D-EP was released on this day back in 1977. Did you buy a copy back then? #XTCmusic
Me neither. Not the lyrics, anyway.
Another day, another XTC anniversary as the band's second studio album, Go 2, was released on this day in 1978! Best track? (I think mine's Battery Brides). Is Go 2 your favourite XTC album? #XTCmusic
No worries, Mark. Hopefully you'll be able to make one of the remaining 3, or the Christmas one. Yes, was lots of fun. Was good to see some new faces join in, too!
Fantastic!
Though the party is over, everyone MUST give Oranges and Lemons a listen. Can't sing its praises enough.
It's one of my most favourite Colin songs
Excellent, Michael. I'll also be doing a xmas one (with the 2 xtc songs and Andy's solo yuletide tracks) sometime in December before rounding the whole thing off with Wasp Star
Whatever gets you prepped for them
You're hosting the buggers!
Cheers, Wiz. Yes, sets Hallowe'en up nicely with Pumpkinhead!
Ah, okay. Hard to read tone in the written word, sometimes. I did giggle when I found out about it (and love a bit of innuendo) 😄
Cheers, Ben. 3 more to go, plus Christmas, then that's it over. I won't know what to do with my last Wednesdays of the month in 2027 😄
One of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. Definitely SMiLE era Beach Boys vibea: 'Chalkhills and Children anchor my feet' could have come straight from the pen of Van Dyke Parks. The beauty of the chorus air and how it bounces off that angular riff. And this coda is just majestic #XTCMusic
And that's your lot for this month. Thanks for joining in this listen-along! We're getting closer to the end of the parties. The next party will be for 1992's NONSUCH album, on Wed 28 October at 9pm (GMT) - hope you can make it! #XTCmusic
