Was told someone bought the book because of this review, which is the best response we can ever hope for 💛 ya, literary community
Thank you for sharing! We’re dedicated to engaging deeply with the books we review (and honestly, it’s been really fun). With so much getting more superficial, long live the in-depth review!
This is a wonderfully insightful and in depth review-essay, and I’m grateful for the deep reading. @independentlit.bsky.social @fitzcarraldoeds.bsky.social @catapultbooks.bsky.social
ICYMI, our latest review ✨
Our latest review is out! Matthew Rice’s poetry collection, plastic (@fitzcarraldoeds.bsky.social 2026), radically unites poetry and low-paid labour. ‘In a space of demanding physical labour like the factory floor, poetry is, in fact, a forbidden substance, stimulating the imagination.’
Excitingly, plastic has just been nominated for the PEN Heaney Prize 💪 (@englishpen.bsky.social)

I’m thrilled and grateful to be shortlisted for The PEN Heaney Prize. Thanks to the judges, @englishpen.bsky.social, and above all @fitzcarraldoeds.bsky.social for publishing the book 💙🤍
Just a few days until our next review is out ✨
✨NEW AUTHOR FOR ANNUAL SALON KEYNOTE ✨ We’re delighted to be partnering with @desperatelit.bsky.social to bring you a brilliant literary evening at Ateneo de Madrid. We’re also thrilled to announce that Yael van der Wouden and @nussaibah.bsky.social will now be joined by Sara Torres.
She has also published four poetry collections, a second novel La Seducción/The Seduction (Reservoir Books, 2024), and an essay El Pensamiento Erótico (Reservoir Books, 2026), which seeks ways to think outside the heterosexual binary.
Sara Torres' novel Lo Que Hay/X is Where I Am (Reservoir Books, 2022) was named one of the year's best debuts by El Cultural and won the Javier Morote Award for Best Emerging Author. Her first book, La Otra Genealogía/The Other Genealogy, won the Gloria Fuertes National Poetry Prize.
