@paulfinchauthor.bsky.socialTexas 1918, the height of the Spanish Flu catastrophe. An abandoned boy is visited by a demon who tells him seven terrifying tales. Exquisite blend of Hispanic myth and occult horror, with a literary subtext about ignorance and fundamentalism. Well written and Packed with full-on scares.
@paulfinchauthor.bsky.socialOnly 13 episodes? Felt like there were a lot more than that given how often it was on.

@paulfinchauthor.bsky.socialA crusading journo travels to Antarctica, where a research team are facing a series of deadly ‘accidents’ ... Continent spanning techno-thriller, highly entertaining but plausible too, and scarily prophetic in its vision of a second Cold War. My review: paulfinch-writer.blogspot.com/2017/05/maki...

@paulfinchauthor.bsky.socialAn LA single mom is raped repeatedly by a half-seen being, but a psychiatrist suspects it’s a painful delusion … Fictionalised account of true-life events that shocked America in the '70s. More like a case study than a horror novel, intelligent and soberly paced, and keeping many possibilities open.

@paulfinchauthor.bsky.socialToday is publication day for THE DARK ARMY. It's yet another all-action medieval adventure. All the details - how I developed the idea, where it came from etc - are on today's new blog. As are the reasons why I probably WON'T be writing in this genre again.

@paulfinchauthor.bsky.socialA rejected misanthrope goes it alone in the Appalachian wilderness and slowly degenerates into a predatory beast ... Short but disturbing novel from the king of dark fables, and a far cry from the ‘subnormal mountain man’ horror some may expect. Sad, distressing, and profound.

The mortician with a talent for repairing the dead, and an urge to collect them. A bunch of short, sharp shockers delving deep into our everyday fears and phobias.
