Want to know more about your rights and where you can seek support?
These rules are particularly relevant for trans people. The Equality Bodies Directives recognise protection against discrimination based on gender identity and gender reassignment in the areas covered by the Directives.
EU rules set standards for how equality bodies should work across Europe. They should be independent, properly resourced and able to provide effective support to people experiencing discrimination.
Experienced discrimination? Know your rights. Equality bodies are independent public organisations that help people who have experienced discrimination. They can explain your rights, support you in making a complaint, help you understand your options and, in some cases, help resolve a dispute.
The guide explains what these directives mean, how they can support trans people, and what EU Member States must do to put them into practice
