Edinburgh, 1904. A comet threatens Earth. One young scientist and a diving bell are all that stand in the way!
A historical sci-fi adventure for age 12+
@thingsinjars.com“The outer door opened. The silence was the first thing I noticed. Not merely quiet, but the complete absence of sound.” - Nathaniel steps onto the comet for the first time. Charcoal from my Edwardian adventure Journey to the Comet.
@thingsinjars.comJourney to the Comet out now
@thingsinjars.comIt’s been aaaages since I did any charcoal. Here’s Sir A Armstrong Armitage from my book.
The kind of man who neither asks for permission nor seeks forgiveness.
@thingsinjars.com"We walked in silence for half a mile more before coming round the final bend before Dunsapie Loch." This is where Nathaniel and the crew don heavy leather and brass diving suits for their underwater practice in Journey to the Comet. The fictional version is considerably deeper than the real one.
