The Right to Roam Print Shop is closing soon!
Every print helps fund our campaign to open up more of the countryside and improve access to nature.
If you’d like to support the push for a Right to Roam, now’s the time to grab yourself a print.

Great to see the Wildlife Trusts call to “Make access to major rivers, especially those in urban areas, a statutory right.”
Of course, to actually *get to* those rivers, we’d also need a right of responsible access to land, too… @righttoroam.bsky.social
We often speak about the value of green belt, but did you know the overwhelming majority of that land is out of bounds?
So what’s the point in green belt if we can’t enjoy it?
That’s why I support the change in the law being campaigned for by @righttoroam.bsky.social
BBC News: Mass trespass staged in PM Andy Burnham's constituency
"They walked on to the Winstanley Hall estate in Wigan as part of their calls for a change in the law to bring in a Scottish-style right of responsible access to land and water that is privately owned."
I was pleased to see @righttoroam.bsky.social at the Wigan Digger's Festival yesterday.
Check out this super-cool artwork revealed on folding out one of their pamphlets. I've framed it and hung it.
Best of luck to everyone on the Makerfield Mass Trespass today.
Today about 100 people took part in a mass trespass in the Prime Minister’s constituency.
There’s a right to roam over just 1% of Makerfield, & today the landowner proved our point for us: putting up fencing & calling the police.
@andyburnham.bsky.social - please open the door to the countryside!

Andy Burnham says he believes in a politics that puts place first. Yet much of the countryside in his own constituency remains out of reach to the people who live there.
Join us for the Makerfield Mass Trespass on Sunday 13 September.

Our latest article on The Crow's Nest explores the happy revival of an endangered bird -- and why it might just challenge how we think about access and conservation.
Should the access movement be less political? Is it all about paths instead of wider rights?
In our first substack, co-director @jon-moses.bsky.social responds to comments from the author and geographer, Nicholas Crane, about the right to roam campaign.
The Right to Roam print shop is live!
Buy exclusive prints from our founder and artist, Nick Hayes, and help support the campaign to unlock the countryside for all.
'Our Land features some of the most beautiful English vistas imaginable. Enjoy them on screen if you can, because you’re unlikely to visit them in person any time soon: vast swaths of the English countryside are fenced off by their owners, whereas in Scotland, freedom to roam is a public right.'
It would be nice if, on a hot sunny day, the @peakdistrict.bsky.social, spent its time advising how swimming can be done safely without impacting wildlife, rather than acting like the most normal thing in the world is a dangerous act of criminality.
This spring sees the release of a documentary about the fight to defend and extend access to nature in England and Wales. OUR LAND, directed by Orban Wallace and shot by Gallivant Film, follows the Right to Roam campaign as we trespass estates and challenge removal of rights on Dartmoor and beyond.
