UKCEH colleagues Helen Roy, Paula Harrison and HyeJin Kim are in Bangkok, Thailand this week taking part in the Second Authors Meeting for the #GlobalAssessment2 from @ipbes.net.
Coming in 2028, this will provide a critical evidence base for #biodiversity decision-making worldwide ๐
The latest UK Hydrological Outlook suggests below normal river flows & groundwater levels are set to persist across Wales and eastern & southern England following a dry September.
Normal to above normal flows in Scotland, Northern Ireland and northwest England.
๐ Weโll also be sharing about UKCEH's work on Nature Positive Transition Pathway in UK Business & Biodiversity Forum's "Business Action for Nature: Turning Science and Policy into Action".

We're going to @unbiodiversity.bsky.social #COP17Armenia this month, bringing science that supports biodiversity conservation, nature-positive decision-making, and action for people & nature.
Our delegation will showcase UKCEH science across official side events & the Tech & Innovation Expo.

We're delighted to be part of this exciting project! Saltmarshes do so much. They support wildlife - from migrating birds to natterjack toad - lock away carbon, and benefit coastal communities.๐ฟ Gathering new data is a key step in understanding these habitats so we can protect and champion them.
The flux tower will provide scientists with data on how much carbon is taken out of the atmosphere by this vital habitat.
The project is a partnership between UKCEH, The Scottish Government, NatureScot and @wwf.org.uk.
It's the most northerly in a network of flux towers around the UK coast.

Scotland's first saltmarsh flux tower has been installed - tracking carbon at the coast ๐
The new technology at Caerlaverock in the Solway Firth will help unlock the carbon storage benefits of Scotland's largest saltmarsh.

The modelling framework it describes supports the production of Official Statistics on pollinating insect trends, published "in Development" for the first time this year by @jncc.bsky.social & UKCEH.

Hello, we'll pass on your feedback. Thanks for sharing.
We're pleased to announce a new licensing agreement with biodiversity technology start-up Wilder Sensing.
Wilder Sensing will integrate technology from the UKCEH-developed LepiSense system into their biodiversity monitoring platform under the name MothSense.
The importance of insect biodiversity for vertebrates

Insects do far more than feed wildlife - a major new global study found insects provide shelter, chemical defences, sanitation and other vital benefits to 1000s of animal species.
Scientists warn insect declines could have far-reaching impacts across ecosystems.

Super proud to have worked on this key paper from @pomscheme.bsky.social It navigates some complex modelling challenges but always a pleasure to collaborate with everyone involved ๐ @francescamancini.bsky.social @drnickisaac.bsky.social @ukladybirds.bsky.social @kitenet.bsky.social
Great to see this paper published and happy to have helped in a very small way. Congratulations @pomscheme.bsky.social - top job!
Another milestone for @pomscheme.bsky.social ! This recently published paper describes the methodology behind the official stats on pollinating insects we released in June. Thanks to all the coauthors and especially to @clairecarvell.bsky.social and @drnickisaac.bsky.social.
