@docsenvaus.bsky.social have released a new report about the impacts of gas on health. It’s something we wouldn’t normally think about, but we definitely should.
Find the details at www.dea.org.au/gas_and_its_...
We attended the launch of @docsenvaus.bsky.social’s latest report, ‘Gas and its overlooked health risks’, in Canberra yesterday.
The report highlights the significant risks fossil gas poses to human health and the urgency of a just transition to clean energy.
I've just discovered this excellent billboard by @docsenvaus.bsky.social (at the @australiainstitute.org.au Climate Integrity Summit).
Research shows that members of the public respond well to messages about health risks, especially from their own GPs, who they trust highly.
There is concerning emerging evidence about the effects of plastics on endocrine function, male infertility, cardiovascular disease and various cancers.
We need our government to step up and do something about this public health emergency.

Last night our Executive Director Dr Kate Wylie appeared on 60 Minutes Australia, to talk about the health harms of plastic. Plastics pose direct risks to human health at every stage of their life cycle. They contaminate our air, pollute the environment, and harm our bodies.
We’d love to see you there!

Dr Louise Woodward is a Northern Territory paediatrician living in Darwin who has grown frustrated by the lack of action on climate change and the wilful disregard of public safety by fossil fuel companies and governments.
