I read this and then had to run away from it before it sank in too deep and repatterned my brain. Some poems are like that.
So good. Brava, @luaz.bsky.social.
Now with updated bio! (I know, exciting, right?)
I generally don't write "spooky" stuff. However....
POEM 378: "Twa Corbies" by Kyla Houbolt (@luaz.bsky.social)
"Two crows diverged
whose flights were tracked
in a yellow wood
by crow the third
who watched the horse
that lay quite still."
In case you missed it this morning...
So glad I had, when I was younger, years of reading and writing and dreaming and making—before getting on social media. It's wild to me that people's views on literature and creativity are so shaped by discourse online. To the point where you just don't get to develop your own taste.
POEM 377: "Give Me a Crow" by Robin Turner (@robinturnerpoet.bsky.social)
"O give me the just before
an about-to-be rain, a little
psalm to hold & pocket, small
pine of beautiful ruin to come."
… a writer is very like a witch. With her cat, making magic with words. And maybe changing the world, just a little. – Theodora Goss
There is something maddeningly attractive about the untranslatable, about a word that goes silent in transit. -- Anne Carson
Stone Circle #ThrowbackThursday poem : "Callisto on Artemis’s Betrayal" by Sirrudeen Nahar (@sirrudeen.bsky.social) #TBT
I just want to massively appreciate this blurb for Little Survivors Everywhere, and the beautiful design provided by @pearlpoet.bsky.social :
Stone Circle Replay Wednesday poem: "Still Life Preceding CDMX" by Elisa Luna Ady (@hellbends.bsky.social)
I prefer the time of insects to the time of stars. I prefer to knock on wood. I prefer not to ask how much longer and when. I prefer keeping in mind even the possibility that existence has its own reason for being. -- Wisława Szymborska, “Possibilities”
Holy shit.
Over the years, I have gotten more interested in building multiplicity into my writing. I’ve been experimenting with how much I can pour into the poem. -- Lauren Camp
Thank you so much for sharing your work with Stone Circle!
It is an honour to have this poem in Stone Circle Review. With much thanks to @leepottspoet.bsky.social
