Eugenio Tahay’s wife died while ICE held him in detention. He never got to properly grieve or say a final goodbye, even after giving the guards copies of her death certificate.

Human dignity doesn't matter to ICE. The cruelty is the point.

Latinas deserve to build generational wealth. To achieve pay equity, we need stronger labor protections, fair wages, access to benefits, and pathways to economic growth.

This image features a person with long hair holding a ladder. Text on the image states, "October 8 is Latina Equal Pay Day. It’s 2026. And still, Latina workers are paid only 53 cents to every dollar paid to white, non-Hispanic men, on average." The background is plain, and the handle "@civilrightsorg" is displayed in the corner.A person is seated at a table working with papers in front of them. A text overlay states, "Latinas have to work an additional 10 months and 8 days to earn what the average white man earned the year before alone." Overlaid text states: "Latina workers stand to lose about $1.2 million over the course of a 40-year career due to the wage gap — that's generational wealth that Latino families are losing out on." Just 13 years before being appointed to the Supreme Court, Thurgood Marshall led the team that argued Brown v. Board of Education — the case in which the Court declared segregation in public schools unconstitutional. An independent judiciary is what makes these cases possible.

“I’m sick and tired of being sick and tired.” Fannie Lou Hamer faced beatings, evictions, and firings. And still, she kept fighting for our voting rights. And so will we. Happy birthday, Fannie Lou Hamer.

Sixty-nine years ago, federal troops escorted nine Black students past a racist mob into Little Rock Central High School.

Today, Carlotta Walls LaNier is still asking us to continue advocating for what we know is right. https://bit.ly/4cYSOjc

Civil rights data about U.S. students helps parents to spot disparities in their kids' schools, researchers to track patterns, and lawmakers to write better policy.

This data is more than 6 months late and harder to understand than before. Our kids deserve better. https://n.pr/4qZHqJm

AI industry leaders are warning us about hypothetical future risks. But AI is already harming our communities: AI systems are denying people loans, screening out job applicants, and more.

It's on Congress to pass legislation that protects all of us.

Adam Abdullah has no criminal record. ICE arrested him in December, and he’s being held at Guantanamo Bay — a complete evasion of due process.

We support @aclu.org in demanding courts end the detention of immigrants beyond U.S. jurisdiction and end this absurd cruelty. https://bit.ly/4xzWH5e

A reminder on International Equal Pay Day: The gender pay gap persists, yet the EEOC collects no pay data to track it — and now it's moving to end even the EEO-1 demographic reports it's gathered since 1966. Less data = less accountability. We demand transparency.

New York police are using Flock cameras to share license plate data with ICE — meaning a simple drive to work or school could trigger your detention, even with no crime committed.

This loophole is a dangerous civil rights violation. https://statescoop.com/new-york-police-flock-data-search-ice/

Lianyong Wei is one of at least 26 reported deaths in ICE detention this year — likely an undercount.

In June, DHS eliminated the requirement to report deaths within 30 days of release, so people who die shortly after they get out aren't counted. https://n.pr/4yyy9KT

On this day in 1963, a bomb at 16th Street Baptist Church killed 4 girls: Denise McNair, Carole Robertson, Addie Mae Collins, and Cynthia Wesley. We honor them by fighting on — for the vote, a fair count, & the liberty and justice for all this country promised.

Vote early, and be heard.

32 years after the Violence Against Women Act became law, its funding remains under threat, with grants delayed, services cut, and resources stretched thin. Congress must reject further cuts and release the grants survivor-service organizations are still waiting on.
