The government’s use of a man’s brutal killing turns an already grotesque injustice into a national spectacle that degrades our country and us all. We stand unequivocally against these actions!

The Governors of CA, OR, OH, and PA are term-limited this election. Urge them to commute all death sentences of people on their state’s death rows before leaving office.

In June 2026, U.S. death row populations dropped below 2,000 for the first time since the 1980s as documented LDF’s TMI Death Row USA report due to declining death sentences, re-sentences and judicial reversals. It’s the smallest death row population in our 50+ years of monitoring.

In 2026 despite horrific failed executions and a barbaric promise to televise a firing squad execution the death penalty is having its last gasp #WorldDayAgainstTheDeathPenalty

For 85+ years we have worked to #EndTheDeathPenalty in the courts, in the states, through law, executive action, and community power.
