When it comes to a person's principles and values, what they hate is as important as what they like. It tells others where a person's limits are. What they won't tolerate or let slide for the sake of comfort and ease. Hate is a trait that can show others what people truly value and stand for. 6/7

The thing is, most people don’t understand hate as a complex emotion. They see it only as negative because that’s how it's taught to us as small children. “I hate vegetables” “I hate this movie” “I hate the cold” Hate was only ever meant as a negative emotion for the sake of negativity. 5/7

Only saying the positive things can actively hide a person’s real values. It's a form of harmful positivity, because they get to smuggle in all kinds of things with their "kindness". A person can say “I like women” but still think women shouldn’t have a vote, equal pay, or bodily autonomy. 4/7

However it turned out he was a strong MAGA supporter. -He voted for Trump 3 times -Was against aid for Ukraine -Supported removing women’s rights to choose -Supported anti-science ideologies -Supported the removal of rights for trans people -Supported the mass deportation of migrant families 3/7

Only using positivity doesn't help express ideals and values in a clear fashion. For example, I used to have a friend who said this about himself: - He liked women - He liked peace - He liked freedom - He liked human rights All positive traits that sound great and make a person sound nice. 2/7
