@dr-bethany-jacobs.bsky.socialThe "surname" in these instances refer to different things. In Effegen's case "Crost" is one of the first known family names of the Jeveni prisoner colonists who were put on Jeve.

@dr-bethany-jacobs.bsky.socialWell, I guess that's overstating it a bit. A couple of years after six leaves the kinschool, they sneak back to see what happened to chono. They don't actually risk talking to her. But in my imagination, she has this sense that someone is there. And then six disappears again.
