Almost 9 in 10 people felt more motivated to act on the climate and nature crisis after watching a screening of the People's Emergency Briefing, according to a large-scale academic study by CAST with the National Emergency Briefing. 📽️

Just Stop Oil made a comeback this afternoon, blocking the road outside Parliament for several hours.
JSO are acting on the science that shows new oil and gas means more fires, more floods and more deaths....
Will the UK government do the same? #StopRosebank #JustStopOil
There's not a lot more important we can ask our MPs to focus on than what they can actively do to slow the climate crisis.
Many thanks to @jksteinberger.bsky.social for leading this much needed call out to scientists & medics. Please read, share, and sign!

On my train to London yesterday the tannoy urged me "if you see something, say something" That's exactly why I came See it, say it... sorted?

6/ 💀 NEW OIL & GAS = MORE DEATHS "Climate change is increasingly destabilising the... systems... on which human life depends" — Lancet Countdown, 2025 UK heatwaves this year killed an estimated 2,700+ people. 42% of those deaths are attributed to human-caused warming.
5/
Let’s remember that record-breaking levels of rain were measured in parts of the UK at the start of 2026 devastating farming and local communities.
4/
🌊 NEW OIL & GAS = MORE FLOODS
A warmer atmosphere holds more moisture, meaning heavier rain & stronger cyclones.
Hurricane Melissa's rainfall was made roughly twice as likely in today’s heated #climate.
3/
🔥 NEW OIL & GAS = MORE FIRES
Hotter, drier conditions mean wildfires spread faster & burn longer.
Attribution scientists repeatedly find human-caused #climate change to be a key driver of deadly wildfires.
NASA data shows extreme fires are getting bigger and more frequent.
2/ Fact: burning fossil fuels is the single biggest driver of global heating.
Extreme weather events, such as droughts, wildfire & flooding are amongst the most noticeable symptoms of the #ClimateEmergency.
1/ Today Scientists on Survival welcomed MPs back to Parliament.
As @miattafahnbulleh.bsky.social & @andyburnham.bsky.social weigh opening #Rosebank & #Jackdaw, MPs must face up to the harm that more CO2 means - & not be misled by spurious industry talking points.

C'mon @wamuseum.bsky.social , London Science Museum's ended decades of BP sponsorship--you too can shake off the shameful yoke of Woodside's fossil fuel sponsorship‼️
Europe's relatively mild climate is enabled by the #AMOC. 🌊
@rahmstorf.bsky.social explains how this oceanic "central heating system" transports immense amounts of energy as heat into the north Atlantic region before cooling and returning southward.

A direct line can be drawn from the fossil fuel corporation CEOs in their smart suits and swanky offices, to the brutal deaths of the terrified people you can see in these films
Himalayan glaciers are collapsing, and meltwater lakes breaching, due to global heating
"The evidence is clear that fossil fuels—and the fossil fuel industry and its enablers—are driving a multitude of interlinked crises that jeopardize the breadth and stability of life on Earth"
