@sagefrancis.bsky.socialSame with doing music. People are still discovering my stuff as they have during each era, and a lot of the old heads seem to be completely unaware that I’ve been active beyond whenever they first heard of me.
@sagefrancis.bsky.socialThis an hour long discussion on my experience in hiphop and a lotttt of info is crammed in there. It’s tough to touch upon everything all at once, but some major bullet points are discussed and explored here. Big ups to Q-Unique of The Arsonists for facilitating this and being such a gracious host.
@sagefrancis.bsky.socialThis was required reading for my generation of hip-hop in the 90s. I was about to say that Upski never gets mentioned anymore, but he gets quoted handsomely in the anticon books recently published by @caltropspress.bsky.social. I need to revisit this one.

@sagefrancis.bsky.socialIf you have a Fandor subscription, you can now stream a weird/comedic horror film called "In the Mouth" directed by my friend Cory Santilli. I have a fun cameo in it.

@sagefrancis.bsky.socialWhen doing a proper release, that’s just the way it goes. Getting a proper mix takes time. Then mastering takes time. If all goes perfectly with those, we then have to look into physical product options and see how long it’ll take to have them ready for distribution. Promo building in the meantime.
@sagefrancis.bsky.socialSometimes I talk about it in the intro of Sea Lion at shows and everyone thinks it’s a bit.

I didn’t discover it during some romantic road trip or college phase. I discovered its importance while I was an adjunct professor.

@sagefrancis.bsky.socialLee Reed's feature on Aupheus' "HIGH ARTIFICE" album. I discovered Lee Reed while touring through Canada in 2018. His performance got me out of my seat and forced me to take notice. He continues to be a force to reckon with.
