Please watch our Deep Dive on the Dyatlov Pass Incident.
It’s one of the most infamous cold cases of all time, and we get deep into the snowy model that unexpectedly helped us figure it out.
The episode is available now at youtu.be/9yYQHUTv9t4?...!
ATTENTION: Our Deep Dive actually comes out tomorrow at 1pm ET! Here's a sneak peek at some of the animations and images from this incredible episode. All animations were created by one of our wonderful animators, Nate and Dakota
And last but not least, for this first time, this Deep Dive had a co-producer! It takes a lot of work to get a project over the finish line once it's been filmed. Mackenna did an amazing job keeping this project going flawlessly behind the scenes.
Finally, along with custom animations and motion graphics, each Deep Dive video comes with it's own set (or two)! The sets on this deep dive featured a vintage tv centerpiece and lots of moody lighting (aka a lot of lamps)!
This Deep Dive is also special because it's the first one directed by Savannah! Savannah has produced Deep Dives before, but they recently started directing episodes, too. Deep Dives are a bigger feat than the average SciShow video, but Savannah rose to the challenge.
After completing her Residency, Madelyn joined our team full time as a script editor and has been hosting regularly since then. This Deep Dive has her influence all over it! She wrote it, hosted it, and even drew a diagram as a reference for our in-house animators.
Our TENTH Deep Dive comes out on Thursday, and we wanted to share a little more about what makes them special! Check out this thread for some credits on the little things that you might not know!
The Denali and Hank Q&A is out now, which means matching custom volcano jumpsuit Denali and Hank is out now!!!

Make sure you're following to see who's next in the roll call, and go watch all of Savannah's fantastic episodes at youtube.com/scishow!
Lately they've been crushing it on episodes about weird ways animals pee, what the best knife is, and so many others. We're so lucky to have them!
They love ecology, culture, and media. For years, they have hosted some of our best videos on our channel, on social media, and on the former SciShow Space channel. They even did a guest spot on SciShow Kids!
There have been a lot of faces on the SciShow channel lately, both old and new! We think it's time for a little roll call, starting with one of your favorites (and one of ours, too)!
@yourlocallibrary.bsky.social is a host, producer, and even made their directorial debut on SciShow this year!
if you've ever been in a fight about dishes, this one's for you youtu.be/pzTyAqobXRI?...
Check out www.instagram.com/dykanite/ to follow along with their process over the next few weeks and tune in September 25th to watch their Q&A with Hank at youtube.com/scishow!
Please give a very warm welcome to our newest SciShow Resident, Denali! Denali has been hard at work for the last several months inside our process. They researched, pitched, and wrote 10 episodes. Then, they came to our studio to host them! They will make their SciShow debut later this month.
