"Great Yarmouth, like many British seaside towns, is all too often associated with poverty...however, this is a place that’s home to friendly, welcoming people, with a gentle—if sardonic—sense of humour. A session in the Red Herring re-enforces this impression."
I thoroughly enjoyed getting Jack's perspective on Zoigl for my article for @pelliclemag.com earlier this year.
I mean, how many other people can boast having visited more than 4000 drinking establishments across Europe? He def has a few points of comparison.
🍻🍻
I really enjoyed editing this piece, which I did while I was in the process of replaying Bloodborne, so if you spot a Yharnam instead of Yarmouth, that’s my bad.
Great Yarmouth is such a fascinating, historic place and a couple of its pubs are absolute gems, so great to see it get the Pellicle treatment

Drinking Zoiglbier in Windischeschenbach.
My beery adventure through the Oberpfalz starts today and was inspired by a fantastic article written by @tempestinatankard.bsky.social published in @pelliclemag.com
A lovely wine story from North London—volunteers at the community vineyards of Forty Hall Farm are making London's first sparkling wine since the middle ages, in Enfield.

An ode to Café Beermoth in Manchester, by @totalcurtis.bsky.social, who reckons (after some soul-searching and a lot of research) it is his favourite bar in the world.
The first print issue of Pellicle is designed by me, with support from Morgenmete's Tim Lampe. You can pre-order it here: www.pelliclemag.com/shop/pellicl...
Pre-orders will really help support the financial load producing our first print edition of @pelliclemag.com, so if you're able to order ahead of publication we'd really appreciate. I'm also taking wholesale orders, so drop me a line if you'd like to stock it!
This week’s beery news update was brought to you by many good folks including @retiredmartinpubs.bsky.social @jasontremblay.bsky.social @morrighani.bsky.social @ncprnews.bsky.social @boakandbailey.bsky.social @thedrewstarr.bsky.social @pelliclemag.com and “Every Dive Bar in New Brunswick”!
If you enjoyed reading my @pelliclemag.com feature from yesterday about Café Beermoth, then you might also enjoy this short video I shot to accompany it.
This was a really interesting read, mostly because whilst in Manchester last Thursday, I decided that I actually don't really like going to Cafe Beermoth and that i should stop including it on my usual Manchester pub route. It's good to hear a well-made counterpoint.
Pellicle, the reader-supported independent food and drink magazine based in Stockport, has announced that pre-orders for its first print issue are now live on its website beertoday.co.uk/2026/09/30/p... #beer #food #magazine @pelliclemag.com
Turns out it’s really hard to write about something you care about dearly, but putting this together was a labour of love. Hope I’ve done you justice @cafebeermoth.bsky.social
Go pre-order the first print copy of Pellicle. You won't regret it.
I’ve spent a lot of time here, some of it even with @totalcurtis.bsky.social!
Have you seen any of the spreads yet?
