Go but bring cushions for napping?
A girl can dream.
Oh, I meant the AI companies providing the tools for this nonsense! Much bigger fish and much bigger scams. Cut the bs at the root.
I would be very happy with destroying the responsible companies and requiring the AI barons to spend their entire fortunes solving homelessness and climate change.
They manage to describe my consulting work with the same vague rhythms as slop book descriptions, which makes them easy to recognize as someone who gets several of these a week targeting authors. If you're in another field, watch out for these. Real people offer telling details.
Oh, great. Now, along with slop scams offering to market my books, and slop scams offering to market other people's books that I've reviewed, I get slop scams offering to pay for consulting work (no specific task, language from my website, and the promise of a "job application" if I respond).
Chicago! This is TONIGHT! Come wave your tentacles and talk about aliens in ancient Pompeii with me and @michitrota.bsky.social
We're excited to share this discussion about how publishers are handling the question of human authorship, the different solutions on offer, and mythbusting for writers anxious about submissions!
Happening today!
It was a term I used half-jokingly while I was writing it, and it stuck! But I also I legit want to read more of it by other people.

6. A Half-Built Garden, Ruthanna Emrys. This is ... diaperpunk? It's great. Aliens come to rescue is from the climate-ruined Earth and we're like "I THINK WE CAN STILL FIX IT." Aliens are found by an eco-anarchist who comes out to see what the chemical spill is in her wetland, bringing her baby.
Note to scammers: I am not, personally, Ursula Franklin, though it would be kind of awesome if I were. And she probably never cared about SEO in her life.
I was reminded by an AI scam that my last Seeds of Story post was about exactly the tech dynamics that lead to AI scams: reactormag.com/artisanal-te...

FYI: Kobo is also price matching.
WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Time to ask for a little help. My partner has been looking for a job in his field for over a year now and the incomes we’ve cobbled together without it aren’t quite adding up. It looks like I will have to start looking for copywriting/content design work again as well
I'm looking forward to this - my first Mozfest *and* my first time in Barcelona!
