SIPTU has announced further strike action in all public sector workplaces for 21 October. Nearly 70,000 SIPTU members across the public service will strike on 14 and 21 October over pay.

Members of the Fórsa trade union employed at Oberstown Children Detention Campus in Dublin are to stage a three-day strike from Monday, 5 October, in an escalation of their dispute over staffing levels.
Members of the Teachers' Union of Ireland have voted overwhelmingly in favour of taking industrial action, up to and including strike action, over the failure to pay an agreed salary increase. Strike action is planned for 14th and 21st October.
Members of the Medical Laboratory Scientists Association have voted overwhelmingly in favour of industrial action over delays in agreeing a new public sector pay deal. They will now join with other unions planning to take strike action on 14 October.
IFUT members at University of Galway are to begin industrial action over pay. Members will withdraw their labour for one hour on October 5, followed by 24-hour strikes on both Wednesday, October 14 and Wednesday, October 21.
