A well-deserved tribute: 70 more Rhode Island veterans received a trip to Washington, D.C., to visit the memorials honoring their service and sacrifice. To all our veterans, thank you for defending our freedom and serving our country. We owe you a debt of gratitude.

It has been three years since the horrific October 7 terrorist attacks on Israel by Hamas, the single deadliest day for Jewish people since the Holocaust. We grieve for the victims and hold their families in our prayers. We will never forget.

From September 15 to October 15, we celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month and the rich histories, cultures, and contributions of Hispanic communities across Rhode Island. I’m proud to join Rhode Islanders in honoring our Hispanic culture and the many ways it strengthens our state!

Proud to have secured millions of federal funding for Rhode Island fire departments to purchase new equipment and vehicles and keep people safe. I will always fight to support the first responders who put their lives on the line for us.

This morning, I attended the Cranston Firefighters Memorial Service to honor the firefighters we’ve lost. We owe all first responders & their families a debt of gratitude. I will keep working to ensure they have the support they deserve.

We just secured $13.7 million to give Rhode Island police officers and law enforcement agencies the resources to protect us and make sure survivors of violence and abuse get the necessary support. Every Rhode Islander deserves to feel safe and supported in our community.

Rhode Island’s food scene is powered by people with great ideas, and Hope & Main helps them turn those ideas into reality. I was glad to join the groundbreaking for West End Kitchens in Providence, which will give more local entrepreneurs the kitchen space they need to get started and grow.

Rhode Islanders should not have to go without heat this winter because the war in Iran is driving up energy costs. The American people do not want this war, and they should not have to pay the price. It is time to end it.
