Props to the guy ahead of me at boarding who answered the attendant's 'have a nice flight' with 'you have my word.'
If he isn't also going to #fantasycon he SHOULD be.

Author of SISTER WAKE, KNIGHTS OF THE BORROWED DARK, TALES OF DARKISLE, and a lot of DOCTOR WHO.
Props to the guy ahead of me at boarding who answered the attendant's 'have a nice flight' with 'you have my word.'
If he isn't also going to #fantasycon he SHOULD be.
Very sorry to miss you at it too but I hope everything is going gorgeously on your side and thank you for the warding spell, I promise to survive so we can all go next year!
That is very reassuring to hear - thank you and I hope you do too! :)
Off to my first #Fantasycon and can't wait to meet you all!
It's my first one, so please do say hi - I want to hear about your books/pets/special interests/beard routines.
My wife says every time I leave the house I come back with 5 new friends, this weekend I say those are ROOKIE NUMBERS
It's my first one, I am both enchanted and terrified to see how it will go!
You're very good, thank you! :D
My epic fantasy SISTER WAKE is just FOUR reviews away from fifty reviews on Amazon -
(apparently an important milestone, according to the Great Algo - pictured below)
So if you have read and enjoyed, throwing up a rating or a review would be incredibly helpful!
I love Pro Acryl - great coverage, barely need thinning, relatively big pots!
Got a teenager interested in books? I'll be doing a panel and workshop tonight with Steve McCarthy, Clara Kumagai, Alison Weatherby and Steve Ellis, moderated by Kevin McGahern!
There's a special discount too - tickets half-price just for today. Details below!
We've already had some brilliant donations in, so let's keep this going, please do spread the word!
This is true of teaching too - obviously there's a baseline, but when I worked as a teacher it was fascinating to watch which petty behaviour had become a teacher's rage button. (Mine was swinging on your back chair legs. Even now it makes my blood boil. Why? I have no idea)
Great news. Ireland’s libraries are one of the best parts of our society.
(And I’m not just saying that because I’m married to a librarian)
Best deployment of a GIF I've seen in ages, thank you
He was actually teaching me a very important lesson that I don't always need to over-compensate and over-reach, and it is good advice to be sure...
He turned into a huge robot, please advise!
I've seen that tweet and I LOVE it, kids as eldritch horrors forever
Terry Pratchett is my hero, so that makes me feel really good about looking up to him!
HE'S SO LOVED, WHERE IS IT COMING FROM
First author event I ever did a 16 yr old girl came up at the end and said 'when I heard a writer was coming in, I thought you were going to be shit, but you are actually... quite good.' High praise!
I can't take credit - and I mean that, once someone congratulated me on his manners and he said 'uh, this is all me.'
